An introduction to the Baby Sloth…
At age 23, I am only just coming to terms with the fact that my interests are outside the norm. It appears I don’t seem to follow the crowd when it comes to hobbies. My parents and I should have known from a young age, when I ‘wrote’ out my ‘sponsibilies’. As eclectic and odd as they may be, my interests do surround one theme. Intentional Living. Intentional living for me is my way of living, it’s why I do the things I do, in the hopes to create the future that I have envisioned.
So what encompasses my Intentional Living journey? My Personal Journey towards Debt Free, Minimalism and Goal Setting. All of which are topics that I will include on this blog. I have always been interested in tracking figures and statistics. With this in mind, I commenced a cadetship at a local Accounting Firm after graduating high school. Whilst working full time at this firm, I also worked towards my Bachelor of Accounting, graduating in May 2018. Although I loved numbers, I decided tax accounting wasn’t for me and looked for my next challenge, moving out of the finance industry.
Now, why the original title of Sloth Renovations? With the help of my parents, I bought my house in July of 2017, in Mackay Queensland, Australia at the age of 20. It’s a doer-upper, a real renovator. There isn’t one bit of floor that is level. However, I do love my home very dearly! Throughout the months of living here, I have made this house become a home. My parents and I are very slowly undergoing the renovations. We all have our own lives, all maintain jobs, relationships, our own homes. Thus explaining the title of Sloth Renovations. For the sake of wanting to keep the name Sloth Renovations for my blog topics, as discussed in What’s in a Name? // Why I Started This Blog, I often refer to my journey of intentional living as a life renovation.
In July of 2019, I opted to take a redundancy and move to Brisbane. I rented out the house semi-furnished, packed only what I could fit into my car and secured work in the accounting industry (again). This move became the source of new goals, new aspirations and new found inspiration for my writing.
